We offer a multitude of classes for various levels.

 

PLEASE NOTE: ALL class level placement and advancement is determined by the faculty.

 

BALLET Level II

These classes follow a classical ballet structure including barre, center and across the floor routines. These levels will build a strong foundation in classical ballet positions and movements. Ballet nomenclature will be introduced and used in all class levels.

BALLET Level III & IV

Building on the dancer’s previous experience from lower level courses, more advanced choreography will be introduced, as class levels progress. Students will learn advanced techniques and skills, as refine their artistry in performance.

PRE-POINTE

Students who show promise in their technique and strength in their legs and ankles will be invited into this class. This class works to strengthen the students’ legs, ankles, and feet preventing injury and preparing the student for pointe work. The class will focus on classical technique, as well as the importance of daily exercises to strengthen and prepare for the dancer’s first year on pointe.

POINTE

All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training and completion of required pre-requisite classes. Students will advance their studies and refine their ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the dancer as they move into higher levels of learning at the studio, as well on their individual artistry.

TAP

classes will focus on proper instruction of how to articulate your feet and ankles as well as explore musicality, rhythm, and syncopation. Students explore the fundamental steps of tap dance, learn tap terminology and develop the ability to maintain correct body placement.

JAZZ II

our introduction into the Jazz program will focus on building a strong foundation in beginning jazz techniques, as well as Broadway and Contemporary movements. 

JAZZ III, IV, V

upper level jazz classes will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as modern, hip-hop, and contemporary to become a more well-rounded dancer. Ages 7 and up.

Combination Ballet/Tap

This is a combination class for our youngest dancers and introduces dancers to the foundations of ballet, as well as basic rhythm and tap choreography. Combination classes allow for young students to be exposed to more than one style of dance that will aid in choosing their classes as they grow older. Ages 3-6

Combination Ballet/Jazz

An alternate option for our youngest dancers. This class will include introductory ballet technique, as well as Introductory jazz technique classes including warm up, center, and across the floor movements. Ages 4-7

Musical Theatre

These upbeat classes teach Broadway-style choreography, show-stopping stage presence, and acting, with a focus on learning song-and-dance numbers from a variety of musical productions, past and present. Ages 7 and up.
